I’m very pleased to be able to announce the first of my large updates to this site. This update has involved a complete re-organisation of the places sub-section; yes, it is a sub-section now rather than a single page. The first page of this sub-section contains information and maps of key book locations within Manhattan and Ballston Spa. The second page contains detailed information and descriptions of the homes and offices of the main characters, while the third page contains information detailing other key locations within the books. All of these pages contain a large amount of new content so please take some time to read through it all.

Next on my ‘to do’ list is to finish the characters section once and for all. Check back soon!

Just a quick update to say that I’m still around! Unfortunately, as much as I would like to be working on this site, my thesis is taking up most of my time at the moment so I won’t be able to make any substantial updates until November (though some small updates have been made to the places page and the map of Manhattan). Sorry for my inability to devote much of my time to 17th Street at the moment but I hope that you’ll keep checking back. I do have some new pages planned for the site which I hope to implement once my ‘real life’ settles down.

Due to a very busy semester at University, I haven’t had time to work on the considerable extra content that I hoped to finish. Despite this, I have managed to add profiles for Clark Wissler, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Cornelius Vanderbilt II, and JP Morgan to the newly renamed ‘personalities‘ page. I hope to continue to make small updates on exisiting site content over the next few months but I won’t be able to make any large updates until at least June or July. I would also like to mention that due to computer failure, I have lost any emails that were sent over the past few weeks. If you have sent me anything that you would like a response to, please feel free to re-send it.

This may seem a long overdue update and alas, despite it indeed being overdue, it is not a proper site update. For the past month, I have been busy with other offline matters and therefore haven’t had the time to write up any new content for 17th Street. I am instead updating simply to notify you all that the site is still active and to reassure that I will be working on updating the existing content, and adding new content, in the next few weeks.

In addition to this, I would really love some input on what new content for 17th Street should be worked on first – I know that what might interest me may not be of interest to others. As such, I have placed a poll up at the message board (found here) which I would appreciate all interested visitors to vote on. I will be taking the poll into consideration when deciding on new content to add to the site in the future.
